Sad to say that Spencer needed a couple of crowns......& some fillings. Talk about feeling like a bad mom! Where is the fluoride in the water?...that & guess it's time that we start flossing (that is where is cavities were)! Perhaps the saying is true.....you only have to floss the teeth you want to keep!
Instead of torturing Spencer by making him sit still for an hour and a half, the dentist can do it in the hospital. They can only do this for children before the age of 5. So we just had a couple months to get this done. Not to mention that the longer we waited his teeth were breaking down. Luckily they weren't hurting him yet!
Spencer was so brave. He wasn't quite sure what was going on. We had to be there at 630 in the morning. My family was out of town on a fun camping trip. So Donna & Grant drove down from North Salt Lake to be with the other kiddies. We got to the hospital & the nurses showered him w/ coloring books, crayons, & toys. when the time came he could have rode in a little wagon down the hall, but he chose not to ride in it - he wanted to walk by himself.
There were no tears shed no tantrums. In fact the nurses kept saying that he was the best mannered boy they have dealt with.
After a couple of hours, Spencer was feeling better - as if nothing had happened. He said his mouth felt kind of funny. I asked him if he wanted to see how the Dentist fixed his teeth. So I took this picture! He was a little shocked when he saw his teeth. So I had to think of something QUICK. I told him how AWESOME his teeth were because they were PIRATE TEETH. He got a little excited & said that he wanted to go back to the Dentist so that he could make all of his teeth Pirate teeth!!!
The rest of the day was spent with him dancing around & looking in the mirror & telling Kenley & Lexy that he had awesome Pirate teeth.
